Today we felt completely relieved. Now everything was in the builders hands and not so dependent on us for one thing or another.

Michelle reflects. The paperwork is filed – let’s go build a house!

This was a new process for us. We previously owned a house (traditional mortgage) and closing was difficult. We had to take off work to make sure we could make it within the banking hours. However, it was super convenient this time because the title company came to US AND we picked the date and time. So we didn’t have to miss work or feel rushed during a lunch hour. The title company representative was amazingly nice and funny and really eased our anxiety.

It was super exciting and scary all at the same time! It was exciting because we were starting to build! But scary because it was a LOT of money, it was the biggest check we have ever written and may ever write. After it was done we felt relieved because we knew the hard part with preparation and getting approved was finally done and beating the weather was a huge stress on us. They could start building within a few days and hopefully beat a lot of the bad weather (snow and freezing temperatures).
